Do you want to work on technology at the heart of online monetization? The AdCenter/Bing Revenue and Relevance team is looking for a senior experienced developer- in particular, someone who has deep knowledge of software systems, experience shipping products in a large team setting at Microsoft or similar large software company, and experience with large-scale data mining, machine learning, and/or quantitative analytics for online systems. It is important that the candidate be hands-on --- i.e. able to translate design ideas into practical implementation in code, and to improve and evolve existing systems. A qualified candidate should have an advanced computer sciences or math or statistics degree and at least 8-12+ years of software systems and/or academic experience. This is a great opportunity to take on technical leadership roles and drive deeply impactful projects.

The challenge is how to measure and quantity the needs of advertisers and users so we can build and train online systems that maximizes revenue and user value (relevance) for clicking on ads. The measurements need to accurately model the behaviors of the marketplace participants (users and advertisers) and help train our algorithms to maximize our success metrics. The role have opportunities to learn from the confluence of many technologies and sciences ---- distributed systems, scalable and available systems, machine learning, algorithms, statistics, economics, and even psychology. It also has opportunities to be directly connected to the actual business on a daily basis, help delivering a world class data system.
Qualifications:
Strong theory/algorithm background and very good understanding on how to apply advanced knowledge to solve real problems
Solid experience in very large real world data processing/analysis especially with web data
Ability to work independently and in a team to research innovative solutions to challenging business/technical problems
Extensive software design and development skills/experience with C/C++/C#/SQL (minimum 8 years, preferred: 12+ years)
BS CS & MS required; PhD or equivalent experience a plus.
